RIP Stan Lee, Who Gave the World the Strangest Superhero Car

As you probably all know by now, the legendary superhero-generating machine Stan Lee has died at the considerably old age of 95. While Stan Lee’s achivements weren’t of the automotive variety, he did contribute some things to the world of automobilia, including one of the strangest superhero cars in all of, um,…

Making Google Translate Impersonate an Old Car Trying to Start Is Way Funnier Than It Should Be

I hope you’re ready to waste some time doing something really, really stupid, because that’s what’s about to happen. See, there’s a way you can get Google Translate’s speech synthesis system to do impressions of what sounds almost exactly like an old car trying desperately to start. And, by selecting different…

Burt Reynolds, the Man Who Made Trans-Ams Cool, Is Dead at 82

I think our own Patrick George may have put it best when he said, of his cynicism about attempts at a modern take on the Pontiac Trans-Am made famous by Burt Reynolds in the Smokey and the Bandit movies, “And now I can’t hate on them anymore, because to hate on Burt Reynolds is to be a bad American.” Patrick was right…

The Most Important Thing About The New Spider-Man Trailer Is That There’s A New Yugo

Did you know there’s a whole other Spider-Man series that takes place in a multiverse where each universe has its own version of Spider-Man? I’ll admit I was not aware of this arachnid-humanoid-related development, but I am now. There’s a new movie coming out about one of these Spider-verses, and, for our purposes,…

Everything We Know About The Car In Final Fantasy XV

I’ll be honest: I don’t know a hell of a lot about Final Fantasy XV, other than that it’s not released yet but it’s leaking everywhere, like my Depends after a brisk drink-and-jog. My Life As An Almost Stunt Driver

Open on an aerial shot of some famous skyline as an orchestral score sets the tone. Intercut dramatic slider shot of the grille and headlights as we hear the rumble of an old Chevy big block. Jump to a dark close-up of eyes as they gaze intensely, ever so slightly off the camera’s center. Engine revs as we see an insert of hands gripping a steering wheel tightly. The orchestra builds to a crescendo, jump cut; gear engaged, foot planted, tires squeal… and it begins.

Holy Crap The Arrested Development Stair Car Is In Captain America: Civil War

By now, like most people on earth, you’ve probably seen Captain America: Civil War , a film where a simple misunderstanding leads to a gigantic fistfight at an airport. But what you may not have seen at that airport fight was one of the best movie Easter Eggs in a long time.

Tupac’s Badass Hummer Just Sold For A Whopping $337,144

Most used Hummers look like they’re demanding somewhere between $60,000 and $100,000 on eBay. This one , complete with a menagerie of custom options including an external public address system featuring three sirens, just sold for $337,144. It probably helps that its first owner was Tupac Shakur.

What Car Did The Dad In Calvin & Hobbes Drive?

I got a suggestion recently from a reader that was brilliant and simple: find out what car Calvin’s dad, the hardworking everyman from the beloved comic strip Calvin & Hobbes, drove. I mean, we have a right to know what he drives, I think, since his son has been seen peeing on so many car windows . So let’s try and figure this out.
